Jordan University of Science and Technology Local Committee

History

Established in 2006 at Jordan University of Science and Technology, IFMSA-Jo/JUST LC was the first Local Committee established in Jordan and played a foundational role in the creation and development of IFMSA-Jo.

For two decades, JUST LC has been a platform for medical students to engage in leadership, community service, advocacy, professional development and international exchange. Its impact, partnerships, activities and student engagement have grown while it continues to contribute to IFMSA-Jo nationally.

In 2026, JUST LC celebrates its twentieth anniversary alongside IFMSA-Jo, marking two decades of shared history and student-led impact. It continues the legacy of Jordan's first Local Committee by turning passion into leadership.

Vision

To be a leading community for medical students, driving meaningful impact locally, nationally and globally through leadership, innovation, collaboration and service.

Mission

To unite medical students in initiatives that positively impact the communities they serve, introduce students to global-health issues and build culturally sensitive future physicians equipped with the knowledge, skills and values required for health leadership through training, projects and exchange opportunities.

Objectives

• Empower medical students to use their knowledge and capacities for the benefit of society and participate in forums addressing individual and community health, education and science.
• Promote and facilitate professional and scientific exchanges, projects and extracurricular training that expose students to other cultures, societies and health challenges.
• Provide a link among members, medical-student associations and international organizations and encourage cooperation for the benefit of society.
