EMR20
From 4 to 14 February 2024, Jordan welcomed medical students and young health leaders from across the Eastern Mediterranean for the 20th Eastern Mediterranean Regional Meeting, hosted by IFMSA-Jo in Amman.
Under the theme “Digital Revolution, Transforming Healthcare,” EMR20 brought together more than 300 medical students from 16 countries for ten days of learning, collaboration, capacity building and regional engagement.
The program covered Standing Committee sessions, leadership and capacity-building spaces, activity showcases, exchanges, research and regional decision-making. Digital health was central: discussions and workshops explored digital transformation, telemedicine and technology-driven approaches to more resilient and accessible health systems.
Beyond its educational program, EMR20 celebrated the diversity of the region and strengthened connections among participants. For IFMSA-Jo, hosting the meeting was a milestone and a reflection of its commitment to spaces where medical students can learn, lead, connect and contribute to meaningful change.
