Al-Balqa Applied University Local Committee

History

Al-Balqa Applied University Local Committee was established in 2020 by a group of enthusiastic medical students under the supervision of the National Team of Officials. After successive student-led projects and organizational development, BAU LC gained full membership in March 2022 during IFMSA-Jo's twentieth National General Assembly.

Vision

To nurture well-rounded future physicians by fostering knowledge, skills, leadership and social responsibility so they can make a meaningful and lasting impact.

Mission

To empower Al-Balqa Applied University medical students through education, research, professional exchange, advocacy, leadership and community engagement.

Objectives

• Empower medical students to transform their knowledge, skills and potential into meaningful contributions to society.
• Support holistic personal, professional and scientific development through education, training, research and extracurricular activities.
• Cultivate community engagement and social responsibility through initiatives addressing health and societal challenges.
• Broaden perspectives through cultural and professional exchange and exposure to diverse healthcare systems and approaches.
• Build networks and partnerships that strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing locally and internationally.
• Develop leadership, communication, teamwork and other competencies required of adaptable, well-rounded physicians.
• Provide platforms for dialogue and advocacy on health, education, scientific and societal issues and empower students to contribute to sustainable solutions.
