History

Initiated in 2025 as a candidate member of IFMSA-Jo, AMSU LC was founded by a dedicated team in Aqaba, a city embraced by mountain and sea. As IFMSA-Jo's seventh Local Committee, it extends the Federation's network southward and serves a region growing in medical and economic prominence.

Vision

To serve as Aqaba's medical focal point, influence community health conduct and connect the public with the region's growing healthcare landscape.

Mission

To improve the regional healthcare landscape through meaningful projects and forward-looking medical research and education while respecting local culture and traditions.

Objectives

  • Establish a growing network of community service, advocacy and awareness in southern Jordan that responds to the region's needs.
  • Contribute to Aqaba's development as a hub for medical research and technology in line with Jordan's national vision.
  • Develop leadership, resilience, self-confidence and responsibility in medical students so they can meet challenges in the workplace.
  • Foster fairness, honesty, integrity and mutual respect among team members.
